Ever wonder where retired spacecraft end up? There's a real spot in the Pacific Ocean where space agencies deliberately crash old satellites, cargo ships, and someday the ISS itself. Presented by returning guest speaker Kat Troche!

Kat Troche is a New York City-based amateur astronomer and informal educator. She is the operations manager for NASA's Night Sky Network program and a coordinator at the Astro Society. Beyond her professional work, Kat is a NASA Solar System Ambassador and president of the Amateur Astronomers Association (AAA). When she isn't dragging her telescopes across the city, she takes them on the road, offering views of our universe to anyone curious enough to look up.

Her past works include: NASA's 2024 Total Solar Eclipse broadcast, which earned Kat an Emmy Award (Outstanding Live News Special, 46th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards) and a Webby Award (Events & Live, 29th Annual Webby Awards). She was also part of the 2023 cohort for the Astronomy in Chile Educator Ambassadors Program (ACEAP).

The East Brunswick Astronomy Club (EBAC) was founded with the mission of encouraging and promoting an interest in astronomy and space science throughout East Brunswick and beyond. EBAC meets once a month at the East Brunswick Public Library and meetings typically include a short lecture, open discussion, and telescope observing.

This group is open to adults, teens, and families with children ages 12 and younger.
