"Old Ways in New Jeresey" debuts on EBTV in October

“Old Ways in New Jersey” is a new EBTV show that promises to shed light on historical traditions that live on in our contemporary society. The show is produced and hosted by Professor Angus Kress Gillespie, of the American Studies Department at Rutgers University, and founder of the New Jersey Folk Festival. The first edition features musician Kathy DeAngelo. Professor Gillespie introduces his guest as “a well-respected teacher of traditional Irish music... Kathy has been collecting the music and stories about the Irish coming to America for more than 25 years. She knows the story of how the Irish, like other ethnic groups, struggled in their homeland against political upheaval and repression; how they endured grinding poverty. And how they left to build a new life in America and something better for their children.” The series is produced and directed by EBTV Producer, Dave Ambrosy. Watch Tuesdays at 4 p.m.; Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.; and Sundays at noon and 10:30 p.m.
