Spotlight on Reading!

Spotlight on Reading!
In partnership with The Library, the School District’s summer reading program is designed to meet the educational needs of our students and encourage lifelong reading habits. July's "Spotlight on Education" encourages participation in Summer Reading. Viewers will hear our own reading experts list the benefits of free choice reading - and how Independent Reading during the school year and Summer Reading positively effect student achievement. That's on "Spotlight on Education" Sundays at 6:30 p.m.; Mondays at 4:30 p.m.; and Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. & 8:30 p.m.

Waksman Scholars Program on "Spotlight on Education"

Waksman Scholars Program on
East Brunswick High School Science Teacher, Anne Sanelli and Dr. Andrew Vershon, Professor of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Rutgers University spotlight the Waksman Scholars program. This program was recently featured as one of the top 10 high school science programs in the country on WGBH (PBS) out of Boston. Viewers will see teaching and learning in the classroom at EBHS and in the laboratory at Rutgers and will hear the students talk about this rich educational experience and how it is preparing them for life in the 21st century. Also included is the actual footage shown on WGBH. Viewers will also meet Supervisor of Science, Trudy Atkins who opens and closes the program. That's on "Spotlight on Education": Sundays at 6:30 p.m.; Mondays at 4:30 p.m.; and Wednesdays at 11:30 a.m. & 8:30 p.m.

This month Professor Angus Kress Gillespie takes a look at Geological Hall on the Rutgers Campus and interviews William Selden, Collections Manager at the RU Geology Museum. That's on "Old Ways in New Jersey" in June, Tuesdays at 4 p.m.; Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.; Sundays at 12 p.m. & 10:30 p.m.
