Reading Services for Kids
Book Discussions, Side by Side, and Reading to Dogs...
These activities are a surefire way to introduce children to the satisfying world of books and libraries. Through these enriching and fun activities, kids can learn to view literature in a new, more vibrant way and enjoy themselves while doing so. Come and enjoy all that The Library has to offer. Please don't hesitate to ask a Youth Services Librarian for tips and recommendations on selecting books for your family.

Books and Beyond
A book discussion group for students in grades 4 & 5. Ask at the Youth Services desk for titles.
For students in grades 4 & 5.
Read to a Dog
Readers in grades 1-5 are invited to read a story to a dog, from Furry Angels Therapy Dogs, a nonprofit organization.
For children in grades K-5.
Side by Side
Children in grades 1-5 can drop in to read with a teen volunteer. Practice reading and listening skills, and enjoy some hot chocolate, too!
Participants must be in grades 1 - 5.
