Learn about 3-D printing as the Library continues its efforts to embracing maker technology! Sunday, Jan. 18, 1 p.m.

Interested in learning what 3-D printing is all about?  On Sunday January 18th at 1 PM Jeffrey Keiffer of 3D Artefice and Trent Welcome, Brookdale Community College Professor of Architecture, will be hosting a lecture, exhibit, question and answer session and 3-D modeling workshop.  This afternoon tech session will be a fun and interactive way to stay current.  Adults, teens and families are welcome to participate.  While studying architecture eight years ago, Jeffrey Keiffer was first introduced to the world of 3D modeling and 3D printing. Since then he has developed his business 3D Artefice, which offers 3D modeling & 3D printing services and custom product creation. More recently he has been featured as a Shapeways' Community Crew Member as well as one of their Designers for Hire. "Our goal at 3D Artefice is to provide services that help bridge the gap between the admirer and the maker."

Trent Welcome began studying architecture at Spring Garden College, and continued his career working at SOME Architects in Red Bank. He then received his Master of Architecture from SCIARC, where he studied architectural design and advanced 3D modeling. As a professor of architecture at Brookdale Community College, he has influenced students and professors alike with his knowledge of contemporary digital design processes and how they can translate into contemporary manufacturing methods.
