The book has been listed by Booklist as Top 10 Religion & Spirituality Books 2016, and Top 10 Diverse Nonfiction books in 2017.  Books will be available for purchase after the program.

Sabeeha Rehman came to the U.S. from Pakistan in 1971 after a hurried arranged marriage. Raising Muslim children in the absence of a Muslim community was a daunting challenge so in the early 1980s, she began the work of establishing a Muslim community on Staten Island, which culminated in the building of a mosque. She has spent the last several decades in engaging in interfaith dialogue with faith communities.

This program is co-sponsored by the Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom Chapters of New Jersey and the East Brunswick Human Relations Council.
