Welcoming Library Spaces for the Autism Community and their Families
The East Brunswick Library is hosting two Support Groups for the siblings of children with Autism beginning on Monday, November 10th. Subsequent sessions will run on every other Monday until June 2009. This program is free and everyone is welcome to attend. Registration is required.
The two support groups are being facilitated by a credentialed family psychologist. The sessions are broken down by age group. The first session runs from 4:00-5:15 pm for children aged 7-10 years old. The second session runs from 5:30-6:45 pm for children aged 11-14 years old.
According to Mary Ellen Firestone, Assistant Director of the East Brunswick Library, “This program is a continuation of our efforts to welcome families with children on the Autism spectrum.”

The Library recently enhanced their Autism materials collection thanks to a contract from INFOLINK, one of four regional cooperatives of the New Jersey Library Network.
