Magnets for Big Science with Peter Bonanos

Join Peter Bonanos and learn how magnets are used in a variety of sciences. Monday, May 20 • 7 p.m.

From the atomic bomb to the Human Genome Project, Big Science has involved large-scale collaboration and research by STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) specialists. One of these specialists, Peter Bonanos, will examine how research in one field can produce improvements in another, non-related field. His talk will focus on magnets and their use in particle physics, as well as touching on other uses like MRI and magnetic propulsion. A discussion will follow.
