Get Ready For College At East Brunswick Public Library
East Brunswick Public Library offers two programs for college bound students.
East Brunswick Public Library hosts two special programs to help high school students plan for college.
Kaplan Test Prep is holding a practice SAT and ACT test session on Saturday, November 12 at 12:30 pm. Students will have the opportunity to take a fully-proctored paper-and pencil exam to give them experience of being in the actual test environment. Following the test, results will be available.
The practice test takes approximately four hours. Test takers will need to bring a calculator, two #2 pencils, a fully charged web enabled device or smartphone, a snack and water. Registration for the practice test is required. It must be done online.
The library is also hosting a scholarship hunting workshop with Nikki Bruno, educational consultant and president of Student Coaching Services, on Tuesday, November 15 at 7 pm. Topics covered include the different types of scholarships, where to find them and how to increase your chances of receiving one.
During the second half of the program, participants will have time to research and apply for scholarships with Bruno’s assistance. The library will have computers available, but if possible participants should bring their own laptop.
Both programs are free and are geared towards college-bound high school students. A complete list of upcoming library programs for teens can be found here.
