Computers and Equipment for Public Use
Computers and Software
Computers are available for public use whenever The Library is open. Internet access, word-processing and other programs are available on the computers in the Information Services and Youth Services areas. Please read The Library's Internet Acceptable Use Policy.
Access
A customer may enter his or her library card number and PIN to log on for a minimum of one hour and may extend beyond that initial hour if no other customers are waiting for a computer. First-time users must register their library cards. Guest cards are available for non-cardholders. Users may reserve a computer when all computers are in use. No advance reservations are taken.Fees
There is no charge for using the library's computers. Printing is available for ten cents per page, black and white, or twenty-five cents per page in color. The TRAC card system is in place to release print jobs from the queue. TRAC cards may be purchased or have value added to them at the TRAC card dispenser.Information Services
There is one computer near the Information Desk reserved for access to magazine and newspaper articles through such sources as EbscoHost and InfoTrac General Reference Center. The magazine and newspaper resources are also available on all other Internet computers.
There is one computer in Information Services for use of CD-ROM resources. The Library subscribes to various CD titles, including business and government information, a telephone directory, and the New Jersey Administrative Code. There is no Internet access on the CD-ROM PC.
Computer Training Center
The computers in the Computer Training Center are available for public use whenever training is not scheduled.
Youth Services
Computers are available in Youth Services for Internet access and educational games. There are also computers for use with CD-ROMs and pre-school computers with educational games for toddlers and preschoolers.
Microsoft Office Tutorials
Self-paced tutorials are available on all of the public computers in the Information Services area for learning Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook. Headphones are available at the Technical Help Window or you may use your own headphones. See the Information Services staff for assistance in getting started.
Microsoft Office Templates
Did you know that you don't have to spend the time to create resumes and more from scratch? The library has downloaded 13 of Microsoft's resume templates for your use in the building. Go to "Office Templates" on the Start Menu of the public computers for additional information.
If you find them useful, take a look at the Microsoft Templates Home Page and see if there are other templates that you would find helpful. Let us know and we will add them to our library of downloaded templates.
Other Equipment
Scanner
A scanner is available for public use in the Information Services area. CD-R discs and Flash drives are available for sale to save scanned images. There is no charge for using the scanner.

Typewriter
An electronic typewriter is available for public use in the Information Services Department. There is no charge for typewriter use.Assistive Listening Device

There are four photocopiers in the Library, three black and white copiers and one color copier; copies cost 10 cents each for black and white and 50 cents each for color. There is a bill changer next to the photocopiers. For assistance, ask at the Technical Help Window in the Information Services area.
