Young Writers Group (Gr. 8-12)
The Young Writers Group is a monthly meeting space for aspiring authors of all genres - poetry, lyrics, fiction, nonfiction, short stories, and more!
Each session of the Young Writers Group will include a different group activity such as blackout poetry, "exquisite corpse," fantasy worldbuilding, literary guess who, mad libs, timed writing challenges, and more. Paper and pencils will be provided for group activities.
Together, participants will encourage and inspire each other, share tips and tricks, and hone their craft!
This group is for teens in grades 8 to 12; no registration is required to attend meetings.
Attendees are encouraged to bring whatever writing project they've been working on recently if they want to share.There will be time at the end for writers to share excerpts of their work with the choice of requesting only positive feedback, only constructive feedback, or a mix of both!
Snacks will be provided. Current TAG volunteers can earn 30 minutes of community service credit by attending this program and using the code word in an after-program survey.
