One-On-One 3D Printing Consultations (Ages 10+)
This program requires registration. Registration will begin on August 21st.
Have a 3D model ready to print? Schedule a 30-minute one-on-one consultation with our technical staff to prepare your design for printing on the East Brunswick Public Library's Bambu Lab 3D printers.
During your appointment, staff will:
- Review your 3D model for printability.
- Evaluate and troubleshoot your design, if needed.
- Prepare your file using Bambu Studio.
- Assess print readiness and estimated print time. Start Printing process.
This workshop is intended for patrons who have already created a 3D model in Tinkercad, Onshape, or another CAD program. Instruction in 3D modeling is not provided during these appointments.
For safety reasons, library staff will operate all 3D printing equipment. Participants are welcome to observe the printing process but may not operate the printers.
Printing Guidelines
- Maximum print time: 60 minutes per project.
- Files must be in STL or OBJ format.
- Bring your file on a USB flash drive or on a device with email access.
- If your model was created in CAD software other than Tinkercad or Onshape, please bring the device with your CAD software installed.
- Available materials may include Silk PLA (pink or purple iridescent), Transparent PETG, and Blue PETG. Material availability may vary.
- To help recover material costs, the Library charges $0.15 per gram of filament used to produce each 3D print.
Because print times vary, completed prints may be available for pickup later the same day or on the following business day. Projects must have an estimated print time of 60 minutes or less to be eligible.
