Starting and Building a Business: Representatives from SCORE to hold workshop on April 7th.
Take this opportunity to pick the brains of some of the region’s savviest business minds
Ideas for creating or expanding a small business are everywhere. But how do you get to the next steps: weeding the good ideas from the bad ones, and then turning the best ideas into an exciting reality? Volunteers from the Counselors of America's Small Business (SCORE) will be at the East Brunswick Public Library on Tuesday, April 7, 7:00 p.m. to answer some of these questions. This workshop is free and everyone is welcome to attend.
SCORE volunteers will explain what you need to know when going into business. They also offer in-depth counseling, training, and workshops on identifying opportunities, finding solutions to problems, creating a business plan, and how to secure funding. SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" is a nonprofit association dedicated to educating entrepreneurs and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

The selection for March 2009 is Kristin Hannah's “Firefly Lane”
The East Brunswick Library is proud to introduce their new web-based online book discussion group “Book Talk.” Beginning in March, Book Talk will take a new direction. Each month we will select a book from the New York Times Bestsellers List to be the focus of our online discussion.
You can access the “Book Talk” page by selecting the “Great Books and Films” link on the home page, then go to “Library Reading Services,” then “Book Discussion group.” Click on the “Book Talk” link at the top of the page to view this month's selection.
Each month we will have a number of copies of the selected book available at our library and will also be happy to request copies from other libraries for our Book Talk participants. The selection for March 2009 is Kristin Hannah's Firefly Lane, a "novel of love, loss, and the magic of friendship". The selection for April 2009 will be Change of Heart by Jody Picoult.
