Join The Library as it takes part in National Novel Writing Month this year with “write-ins” scheduled for teen and adult writers throughout November. National Novel Writing Month challenges writers to begin a 50,000 novel on midnight, Nov. 1, and finish it by 11:59 p.m. Nov. 30.

In collaboration with our local NaNoWriMo chapter “The Central NJ Wrimos,” the Library is kicking the event off with a party for local participants on Sunday, Oct. 24, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Youth Services Program room. Following that, writers are welcome to attend four scheduled “write-ins.” There will be power outlets for lap tops and coffee and snacks will be available for purchase at The Library’s A Novel Café.

The write-ins will be held in the Quiet Reading Area on:

  •  Monday, Nov. 1, from 4 to 8 p.m.;
  • Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 4 to 8 p.m.;
  • Thursday, Nov. 18, from 4 to 8 p.m.; and
  • Monday, Nov. 22, from 4 to 8 p.m.

A wrap-up party will be held in meeting room 3 on Sunday, Dec. 5, from 2 to 5 p.m.  This is a world-wide event so come by The Library for the quiet space and resources you need to write. Refreshments will be served at the kick-off and wrap-up parties.  For more information on National Novel Writing Month visit www.nanowrimo.org.
