Take part in the Friends of the East Brunswick Public Library Community Yard Sale

Clean out your house and make some cash for the summer at the largest Community Yard Sale in the area. Sign up now to sell at the Friends of the East Brunswick Library Community Yard Sale on Saturday, June 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hammarskjold Middle School, 200 Rues Lane, East Brunswick. Double parking spaces will be $25. Sellers will be allowed to set up at 8 a.m. Additional parking spaces are available for $15. We have a limited number of spots available, so register now. Refreshments will be for sale and indoor restrooms will be available. Registration must be received by Monday, June 14. Make checks payable to the EB Friends of the Library. Contact Willette Seibel at 732-390-6774 or at wseibel@ebpl.org for more information. Mail check to: EBPL Friends, 2 Jean Walling Civic Center, East Brunswick, NJ 08816, or drop off at the Library. The rain date will be Saturday, June 26.

Please do NOT return any Library items that you have checked out from Monday April 26th to Thursday April 29th
Your items cannot be checked in or renewed on those days because The Library is changing computer systems. Fines will not be charged on these days.
The library catalog will be available only for searching on Monday and Tuesday April 26th and 27th. You will not be able to place requests or renew any items via the library catalog on these days.
The library catalog will not be available on Wednesday, April 28th. Please call Information Services at 732-390-6767 or Youth Services at 732-390-6789 for assistance in determining if the library has the book, DVD, CD or videogame that you want.
The new library catalog will be available beginning April 29th. All holds, suspended holds and lists will be transferred to the new library catalog.

Come register for the popular Defensive Driving Course, sponsored by the Friends of the Library. The two-day course will be held on Monday, April 26, and Tuesday, April 27, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the East Brunswick Public Library. Registration is required and seating is limited to 30 people.

What's It Worth? Antique Appraisals, Information Fair and Lecture

Come to everyone's favorite "Antiques Road Show" and learn how to get the best price for your collectibles. Attendance is free, but for those wanting appraisals for their items, tickets are $5 and include having two items (no weapons, please) appraised by professional appraiser Joseph Bodnar and colleagues. Tickets are on sale April 19th. Only 100 tickets are available and they always sell out fast!

Students are interviewed and tested for proper placement. Most classes meet evenings at East Brunswick High School, but some classes meet at the East Brunswick Public Library on Wednesdays during the day.

Sign up now for the East Brunswick Public Library’s latest computer class offerings. April promises a little something for everyone as we go back to the basics with a number of introductory classes. If you have mastered those, choose from several Microsoft Office advanced classes. Classes are two hours long and limited to 12 students per class.
Classes for April include:
- Microsoft Word III on Thursday, April 1, at 7 p.m.;
- Introduction to PowerPoint on Tuesday, April 6, at 7 p.m.;
- E-mail Basics Part I on Wednesday, April 7, at 2 p.m.;
- PC Literacy I on Thursday, April 8, at 7 p.m.;
- PC Literacy II on Saturday, April 10, at 9:30 a.m.;
- Internet I on Tuesday, April 13, at 7 p.m.;
- E-mail Basics Part II on Wednesday, April 14, at 2 p.m.;
- Introduction to Office 2007 on Thursday, April 15, at 7 p.m.;
- Excel Basics on Saturday, April 17, at 9:30 a.m.;
- Introduction to Microsoft Word on Thursday, April 22, at 7 p.m.;
- Excel II on Saturday, April 24, at 9:30 a.m.; and
- Microsoft Word II on Tuesday, April 27, at 7 p.m.
Registration is required. There is a $5 fee for cardholders and a $10 fee for non-cardholders. Fees will be added to a cardholder’s account and paid for at the Circulation desk.
