Join professional organizer, Katie Tracy for this program on the importance of organization and the eight steps to organize any space.  Katie will reveal the supplies needed for any organizing session, how to make sense of what you have and how to put it all together to create an efficient space. This free program will include some helpful maintenance tips for keeping the "space in shape"!

Defensive Driving Erase points and save money on insurance! NJ-Approved class taught by experienced police detective/accident investigator. Aug. 29 and Aug. 30. 6:30PM - 10PM

Participants must attend two consecutive evenings for credit. Course costs vary according to goal: $65 for a 2-point reduction on license and 5% insurance discount or $55 for just a 5% insurance discount. Application forms are available at the Circulation Desk or downloadable here. Checks should be made payable to E.B. Friends of the Library. Get the computer training you need at the Library and update your Microsoft Office skills. August features our brand new class - Excel IV!
Register today!

Register now for the East Brunswick Public Library’s latest computer class offerings.  August offers something for everyone with classes for beginners and more advanced students alike.  Beginners can register for our basic computer classes - PC Literacy I and II.  More advanced users can sign up for the Microsoft Office suite of classes.  This month we are offering three levels of Microsoft Word, four levels of Excel, and the introduction to PowerPoint.  People who are new to Office 2010 or 2007 can register for the Introduction to the New Microsoft Office and master the new navigation and discover all of its new features. August  also offers another opportunity to register for our popular class on downloading eBooks and audiobooks - Search, Checkout and Download: Downloading Audiobooks and eBooks.

Excel IV
Continue your mastery of Excel in this new class offering. Learn how to create and modify pivot tables,to protect cells and worksheets, to use the payment function, to create and use forms for data entry, to use the VLookup function, learn the advantages for defining data as a table, and how to use Excel as an architectural design tool. In addition, the class will offer an overview of best practices for spreadsheet design.  

Search, Checkout and Download: Downloading Audiobooks and eBooks
People who like to read on the go might want to check out our class on how to download eBooks and Audiobooks. Learn how to download free books from The Library’s growing collection and other free resources to your Barnes & Noble Nook, Sony Reader, iPhone, iPad, Blackberry and Droid phone. Please note that the Kindle ereader is not compatible with library ebooks due to the manufacturer’s restrictions. 

Classes for August include: 

All courses are offered using the latest Microsoft software - Windows 7 and Office 2010. Registration is required. All registrants should look at the class offerings carefully to insure that they have the necessary skills for each class. Most classes are two hours long and limited to 12 students per class.  

Fees  
There is a $5 fee for cardholders and a $10 fee for non-cardholders. Fees will be added to a cardholder’s account and paid for at the Circulation desk. Register at the Library, by phone or by going to the event in the website Calendar and clicking on the Sign Me Up link. Your library card and PIN numbers will be required.  Non-cardholders must pay at the time of registration, i.e. registrations must be in person. For more information, please call 732-390-6767.
