Record.Play Film Festival

Record.Play Film Festival

In the spring, we challenged East Brunswick’s teen filmmakers to make a short film promoting the library. Come by as we celebrate their work. Sunday, Sept. 7 * 2 p.m.

It’s almost time for the East Brunswick Public Library’s first annual Record.Play Film Festival.

In the spring, we challenged East Brunswick’s teen filmmakers to make a short film promoting the library. On Sunday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. we will celebrate their work and award prizes for the best pieces. The Record.Play competition is designed to promote EBPLay media lab, support East Brunswick teen filmmakers’ creativity, and foster a culture that encourages peer to peer learning.
So please join library staff, teen filmmakers, and judges to view the entries and celebrate the culmination of a wonderful year of work by all!  Stay for light refreshments and find out who the judges award the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes too!   After the event be sure to check out the EBPLay media lab.

Last fall the library sent out a survey to all our cardholders to gauge our residents’ interest in different aspects of “maker culture.” Library staff were working on applying for a “maker space” award through the State Library and LibraryLinkNJ and we wanted input so our proposal would reflect community interest.  EBPLay media lab was the result of your feedback and our successful application.  We now have a lab with five mac workstations loaded with Final Cut Pro editing software as well as the Adobe Creative Suite. Everyone is welcomed to use the new lab.

Funding for this Mobile Project initiative is provided by the New Jersey State Library and LibraryLinkNJ, the New Jersey Library Cooperative whose services are funded by the New Jersey State Library, which is responsible for the coordination, promotion, and funding of the New Jersey Library Network.
