LAST Class: Defensive Driving Course September 8 & 9
Get a 5 percent discount on your auto insurance or erase points from you or your teen's driver's license by attending the next two-day East Brunswick Friends of the Library's Defensive Driving Course.
This is the LAST class of the year.
Eligible drivers can erase two points from their driver's license and/or get a five percent discount for three years on a portion of their auto insurance by attending both sessions.
Approved by the State of New Jersey, the course is taught by an experienced police detective-accident investigator. Participants must attend two consecutive evenings for credit. Course costs vary according to goal: for a 2 point reduction on your license, $65; for an insurance discount, $55. For both, the cost is $65.
Attendance is mandatory and refunds cannot be given for partial attendance. Registration is required and seating is limited to 30 people. To registration download registration form and mail or hand deliver to Library by Sept 3, http://www.ebpl.org/pdf/Defensive_Driving.pdf
Labor Day Observance Closings
The Library will be closed in observance of Labor Day weekend from Saturday, September 5, through Monday, September 7.
We will re-open on Tuesday, September 8 at 9 a.m. Have a safe holiday.
EBPL Community English Conversation Group
Starting Friday, August 21, and running for six weeks on Friday mornings at 10 a.m., we will be having an EBPL Community English Conversation Group.
Starting Friday, August 21, and running for six weeks on Friday mornings at 10 a.m., we will be having an EBPL Community English Conversation Group. This group is a casual conversation group, and the focus will be on acclimating to East Brunswick (and the U.S. in general).

Writer’s Group Starts September 10th
The Writers’ Group @ EBPL was created to offer a forum in which locally-based writers could develop their writing, whether fiction, poetry, non-fiction, screenplays, or essays. The group is open for anyone aged 18 and older, whether an aspiring or published writer.
The group is intended as a supportive space to seek advice and inspiration from other writers and aspiring writers, as well as provide an opportunity to develop writing through constructive critiquing of work.
The group will meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 7 p.m. in the East Brunswick Public Library in Group Study Room #1 starting Thursday, September 10th.
