from 11 am to 4 pm
East Brunswick Public Library joins over 200 libraries, schools, museums, colleges, makerspaces and other community organizations in hosting events for the third annual New Jersey Makers Day on Saturday, March 25 from 11 am to 4 pm.
New Jersey Makers Day is a statewide event that explores the world of maker spaces and maker culture, as well as the importance of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) related activities. Almost 300 different locations will be hosting New Jersey Makers Day events this year.
East Brunswick Public Library will offer a wide variety of activities throughout the day for attendees of all ages, ranging from embroidery and upcycling projects, to learning how to use green screen video technology and making video game controllers.
TOOOL NJ (the Open Organisation of Lockpickers) will lead a presentation on how locks function, and the EB FIRST Robotics Group will demonstrate several of their award-winning competitive robots.
The previous New Jersey Makers Day events have been successful at East Brunswick Public Library, with 700 people participating in 2016.
The day-long event is free and open to the public. A complete schedule can be found online at www.ebpl.org/maker. Information about the New Jersey Makers Day project is available at www.njmakersday.org.
