Sendaula is a librarian and writer from New Jersey, who works in community engagement and outreach, and enjoys finding a book for every reader. She has led author panel discussions for state and national organizations.

“We have known that our community is home or the birthplace of many authors, and we want to be able to celebrate them and their works,” says Melissa Hozik, Adult Programming Librarian. “We have self-published and traditionally published authors in the genres of fiction, history, autobiography, culinary, and young adult/children.

Panels include:
  • “Creating Powerful Personal Narratives” at 1 pm, with Geeta Gwalani, Carol Selick, and Diane Uniman (aka Princess Diane von Brainisfried)
  • “Writing for Children and Teens” at 1:50 pm, with Rachelle Burk, Jen Doktorski, and Joe Rutch
  • “Embracing Local History and Folklore” at 2:40 pm, with Angus Kress Gillespie, Mark Nonestied, Ethan Reiss, and Neal Stoffers
  • “Mastering the Art of the Story” at 3:20 pm, with Deborah S. Greenhut and Harry Marks.

The East Brunswick Friends of the Library’s 47th-annual Book and Media Sale returns to Brunswick Square this October 10-16. More Info

The East Brunswick Friends of the Library’s 47th-annual Book and Media Sale returns to Brunswick Square (75 Route 18 South, East Brunswick, NJ) this October 10-16.

“This is our group’s largest fundraiser,” said Adrian Levine, Friends of the Library book sale chairwoman. “Every dollar we make goes directly to the library, sponsoring special services like the museum pass program and the EB Create makerspace, not to mention the library’s events and programs.”

The Friends of the Library will be selling thousands of different items, including books, videos, audio books, CDs, DVDs and comic books.

“We would like to thank everyone who donated books, movies and music to the sale,” she added. “The generosity of these donors, not to mention the shoppers, allow us to support East Brunswick Public Library.”

The sale will be held during the mall’s regular hours of operation, on October 10-15 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, and on October 16 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  A special preview sale will be held on Monday, October 10, from 8:00 am to 9:00 am. For a special admission of $25, book collectors can get a first look at everything on sale.

Library staff will be holding additional activities for children throughout the week.

Accepted forms of payment are Venmo, cash, checks and credit cards.

The Friends of the East Brunswick Library regularly meet to plan fundraiser events to support the library. To learn more about the organization, click here.
