WWII: A Veterans' Perspective, with Navy artists Capt. Samson and Army vet Frank Russo, Introduction by Tommy Coohill, Commander of the East Brunswick VFW Post. Thursday, December 5 • 7 p.m.

Many people think they “know” World War II from childhood recollections, history books and/or the many fictionalized films and books set during the war. The Library is offering an opportunity to hear the nonfiction versions—the first-person versions—from soldiers who served.

Captain Samson is a WWII Navy artist whose work is displayed in the Navy Museum in Wshington, D.C.. He will share both his drawings and his stories.

Frank Russo is a highly-decorated WWII Army vet whose honors include the silver star. He will talk about his experiences serving in Europe and share personal artifacts.
