Local Author Talk and Performance: Strings Attached

Joanne Lipman and Melanie Kupchynsky remember EBHS orchestra teacher, Jerry Kupchynsky, known as Mr. K, during a discussion of the book "Strings Attached: One Tough Teacher and the Gift of Great Expectations." Melanie, a Chicago Symphony violinist, will be performing. Sunday, February 9 • 2 p.m.

Strings Attached: One Tough Teacher and the Gift of Great Expectations is about former East Brunswick High School orchestra teacher Jerry Kupchynsky, known as Mr. K. Join the co-authors, EBHS grads Joanne Lipman and Mr. K’s daughter, Melanie Kupchynsky, in a multimedia tribute to this remarkable teacher. The book brings to life the power of music and the lasting influence of the great mentors in our lives. Find out the events that shaped Mr. K’s life and how he impacted the lives of his students as he imparted lessons in resilience and excellence while practicing the fine art of tough love. Co-author Melanie Kupchynsky, a violinist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, will perform several pieces that play a role in the book.
