5,000 Toothbrushes for 5,000 Smiles

Did you know that tooth cavities are one of the most common health problems? According to the CDC, over 90% of adults have had at least one. More Info

 
To help promote the importance of dental health, the East Brunswick Public Library launches the “Five Thousand Toothbrushes for Five Thousand Smiles” program through its award-winning “Just For The Health Of It!” consumer health and wellness initiative.
 
Kicking off this weekend to celebrate Halloween, the library will be giving away toothbrushes from Friday, October 29 through Monday, November 1. Activity sheets and dental information will also be distributed.

The annual Book and Media Sale is still going strong at Brunswick Square's JC Penney Court (755 Route 18 South, East Brunswick, NJ, 08816) on the following days:

Venmo, cash, checks and credit cards are accepted. Masks are mandatory. Hand sanitizing stations will be available, and social distancing rules must be followed.

The East Brunswick Friends of the Library are teaming up with the Panera Bread at Brunswick Square (755 Route 18, East Brunswick, NJ, 08816) on Friday, October 15 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. 

If you make a purchase, the Friends of the Library receive a portion of the proceeds, which are used to benefit events, the Museum Pass Program, the EB Create makerspace and several of the special services that the East Brunswick Public Library offers. 

You can order online at panerabread.com and enter the code PRFUND at checkout. You can also bring a copy of the flyer or show a digital version to the cashier when ordering at the cafe to ensure that the Friends of the Library get a portion of the proceeds.

The East Brunswick Public Library is now open to the public for full hours as of Tuesday, September 7th.

Mask use is REQUIRED FOR ALL LIBRARY USERS no matter vaccination status. Library staff will continue to enforce safe distancing guidelines and hand washing.

The library's hours are as follows:
  • Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00am to 9:00pm.
  • Fridays from 9:00am to 6:00pm.
  • Saturdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Sundays from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.

BOOK DROPS ARE OPEN
Materials are no longer held in quarantine.
 
CURBSIDE PICKUP
Customers will be able to continue to get library materials through Curbside Pickup. Library cardholders with a valid LMxAC member library card can use curbside pickup at East Brunswick Public Library. Click here to learn about this service. If you are looking for book recommendations, our Match+Book program puts together a literal bag of books based on your reading interests.
 
PASSPORTS
Passport services at East Brunswick Public Library are available by appointment only. They can only handle new applications and minor applications (no adult renewals). VIRTUAL & IN-PERSON REFERENCE
East Brunswick Public Library can still answer your reference questions virtually, by telephone, e-mail or through the chatbox on our website, as well as in-person during library hours. Learn more about virtual reference here. Also, many of the library’s online resources, ranging from Ancestry to Rosetta Stone to Universal Class, and our technology classes are available from home. VIRTUAL, IN-PERSON, AND OUTDOOR PROGRAMS
All virtual and outdoor programs at East Brunswick Public Library will continue. Some limited indoor programs will begin. We have activities, workshops and lectures planned for all ages. For a complete list, click here.

If you need to use the library's computers, photocopier, scanner or fax machine, no appointment is required.

The library offers eBooks, magazines, movies, graphic novels, television shows and even crafting instructions for free with your library card. If anyone in your family or friends need an East Brunswick Public Library card. We have made it easier than ever; you can apply online.

  • The Friends of the Library will accept a maximum of 2 grocery-size bags/medium-size boxes of items per day, Monday-Friday, 9am-4pmDonations must go to the side door of the library (in between the library and the senior center).

Power BI is an application that you can use to connect, transform and visualize your data. This introductory class series shows you how to use this software. The three sessions are:

The Friends of the Library are having a Family Fishing Day on Sunday, September 12.

The East Brunswick Friends of the Library have planned the perfect fundraiser event for late summer. They are hosting a Family Fishing Day on Sunday, September 12, from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, at Molder's Fishing Preserve (318 John Wall Road, Monroe Township, NJ).
 
Tickets purchased in advance for adults (ages 12 and up) are $11, and tickets purchased in advance for children (ages 5-11) are $8. Children under five are free.
 
Tickets can also be purchased by mailing a check made to East Brunswick Friends of the Library and mailing it to:

All mail orders must be received by September 9 and include the number of adult and child tickets purchased.

Use Venmo to send us your order! Scan the code to the left or send it to our Venmo address @EB-Friends. In your order, please put your contact information (phone/e-mail) and how many adult tickets and kids tickets you are ordering.

You do not need to have a fishing license to participate. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch and snacks.
 
Tickets purchased at the event are $12 and $9, respectively. 
 
A limited number of fishing poles are available for a rental fee of $8 and live bait for $3.50 at the event. In the event of inclement weather, there is a rain date scheduled on September 19. Proceeds from this event benefit the East Brunswick Public Library.

Our popular Girls Who Code club is back! We have two online programs, one for girls in grades 3-4 and one for girls in grades 6-12. Learn more



3RD-5TH GRADE GIRLS WHO CODE CLUB

This club meets every other Monday from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The club runs from September 13 through December 6.

The group will learn Scratch, and the girls will pick up computer science concepts like order of codes, function, events, loops, condition, variable and abstraction. Scratch is a block-based programming language, and the projects are fun to spark interest in coding. It is suitable for beginners who have no prior experience in coding.

6-12TH GRADE GIRLS WHO CODE CLUB

This club has seven meetings every other Monday from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The club meets from September 20 through December 13.

We will learn the introduction to JavaScript together using Intro to JS: Drawing & Animation of Khan Academy
