Exhibits of art, photography, collections, and other subjects of interest to adults and children are on display monthly. For information about exhibits, ask in Administration or call (732) 390-6783.
 

Postage Stamps

Can't make it to the Post Office? Books of stamps are sold at the Circulation desk.
 

Proctoring of Exams

The Library proctors exams for anyone from any town. This includes proctoring of all types of exams in addition to traditional college degrees. For example, we will also proctor for real estate, plumbing, carpet cleaning, electricians, etc. The cost is $25 per exam. Customers need to pay by cash or check (made out to the East Brunswick Public Library). All new students should contact the Manager of Information Services, Karen Parry to complete the initial paperwork. For additional information please call 732-390-6764.
 

Recycle eyeglasses, used batteries and cell phones at the East Brunswick Public Library!

The East Brunswick Public Library is happy to participate in several recycling programs. East Brunswick residents are encouraged to bring the following items to the library to be recycled and help support several community organizations:

Old eyeglasses are donated to the Lions International for their ongoing recycling program to assist the blind. For more information see the Vision Programs page at the Lions International site.

Used batteries are recycled through the East Brunswick Township program. As of 2010, major changes were implemented to the Township's battery recyling program. Alkaline batteries may now be put in the trash. Rechargeable and button cell batteries only will be collected. Only the following rechargeable batteries will be collected:

  • Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd)
  • Nickel Metal Hydridge (Ni-MH)
  • Lithium Ion (Li-ion)
  • Nickel Zinc (Ni-Zn)
  • small sealed lead (less than 11 lbs)

The lable on the battery will indicate whether it is rechargeable.

Residents are encouraged to bring their used batteries listed above to the library so they do not end up in the landfill but instead are recycled back to a useful product. Check the Recycling brochure on the township's web site for additional information on recycling in East Brunswick.

Old cell phones may also be dropped off at any of the household battery dropoff locations.
 

MCFOODS Collection Site

Donate nonperishable foods to local food banks at The Library. The Library is now a designated MCFOODS (Middlesex County Food Bank) collection site. MCFOODS collects and distributes nonperishable food to our local food banks (including the one at Aldersgate Church). 20% of the donations made go directly to East Brunswick residents; the remainder go to neighboring communities in the county.  They are currently in desperate need of food (the shelves are empty). Please drop off your non perishable food items in the green collection buckets located at the end of the wall under the orange photocopiers sign, around the corner from the Computer Help window.
