The Library staff hosted a luncheon on Wednesday, April 22nd to thank its dedicated group of volunteers for a year of service. Library volunteers help deliver books and movies to homebound residents, lead English as a Second Language conversation groups, provide commentary on Sports programs for EBTV and read and straighten many collections in the library building.

Carol Nersinger, Director of the Library, handed out certificates to all the volunteers who completed 10 hours or more of service in the last year.  “The library is so fortunate to have a committed group of individuals that give their time and talent to support the programs and collections of the library. We cannot thank them enough for their efforts in helping The Library serve all the residents of our community.”

You asked for it and, yes, we’ve delivered. We are so excited to announce that residents can now access the Lexis/Nexis database through the library website. All library card holders can now read worldwide magazines, newspapers, newswires, t.v. and radio broadcast transcripts, and a wealth of other information.
We also provide access to legal information through Lexis/Nexis on all in–house library computers. These include federal and state cases, federal & state codes, New Jersey statutes, NJ Constitution, Court Rules, tax laws, and patents. You must visit the library in person to use the legal part of Lexis/Nexis. However, everything else on Lexis/Nexis can be searched from home or anywhere you have a computer.

Did you know that Lexis/Nexis is great for job hunting?  Build a dossier of companies that you can target by line of business, location, size, and sales volume.  You can learn about markets and industries, too, and prepare for interviews by searching for the latest trends of a company, find parent and even financial information.   Simply click on the Business tab on the main screen to begin your hunt.

It’s easy to search with Lexis/Nexis.  There’s an Easy Search mode for novice searches and a Power Search for experienced searchers.  You’ll find Lexis/Nexis listed under the Research Tools tab and Online Databases.

So sit back, relax, and let your mind travel around the world as you enjoy international newspapers while never leaving your favorite chair.  From your home, office, or laptop, we are proud to boast that we are the ONLY New Jersey library to bring Lexis/Nexis to patrons through a library website.   You asked for it, we heard you, and we answered.
