EBTV Wins Big at JAM Awards

Congratulations to EBTV, which was once again recognized for excellence after emerging as this year’s “station with the most wins” at the Annual JAM Video Awards Festival.


Congratulations to EBTV, which was once again recognized for excellence after emerging as this year’s “station with the most wins” at the Annual JAM Video Awards Festival.

The Awards Ceremony, held at the Hyatt Hotel in New Brunswick on May 16, was attended by hundreds of members of the Jersey Access Group and the Alliance for Community Media. It featured NJ State Sen. Barbara Buono, who received the “Legislator of the Year Award,” and Piscataway Mayor Brian Wahler for the “Municipal Excellence Award.”

EBTV entered 10 categories and 11 EBTV videos placed as finalists in the competition. The Jersey Access Group (JAG) selected an additional EBTV video (Helmetta Animal Shelter, produced by Sydney Contrino and Anthony Pagliuco) as a finalist in the “Best Access New Jersey Program.”  All finalists were recognized as “Outstanding Videos.” They included the following EBTV videos in these categories:

Children & Youth: “Traffic Safety is Elementary: Don’t Clown Around” (produced by James Polos, Middlesex Board of Chosen Freeholders, and Dave Ambrosy);

Diversity: “Winning Season – East Brunswick Special Sports” (produced by Barbara Reiss and Anthony Pagliuco);

Documentary: “Old Ways in NJ: A Tour of Voorhees Mall at Rutgers” (produced by Angus Kress Gillespie);

Instructional & Training: “Traffic Safety is Elementary: Don’t Clown Around” (produced by James Polos, Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, and Dave Ambrosy);

Issues & Political Process: “Governor Chris Christie’s Town Hall” (produced by Anthony Pagliuco);

News & Magazine: “This Week in East Brunswick: 2012 Highlights” (produced by Anthony Pagliuco and EBTV Volunteer Reporters);

Senior Programming: “Totally East Brunswick – Inside the Senior Center” (produced by Barbara Reiss, Anthony Pagliuco, and the East Brunswick Office on Aging);

Religion & Spirituality: “Totally East Brunswick – East Brunswick Clergy Council” (produced by Barbara Reiss and Cindy O’Connor);

Sports Programming:Sports Talk: Fall Sports Review” (produced by Ken Saroka and Frank Noppenberger);

Program Opening: “Sports Intro 2012” (produced by Dave Ambrosy);

Best Access New Jersey Program: “Helmetta Animal Shelter” (produced by Sydney Contrino and Anthony Pagliuco).

Memorial Day Closing

The Library will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday for Memorial Day.

The Library will be closed on Saturday, May 25, Sunday, May 26, and Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day. Late fees will not be accrued during those days. In addition, our Summer Sundays begin in June. Starting June 2, the Library will be closed on Sundays during the summer.
