Library Features: What's New @ The Library
World Book Online and PebbleGo
World Book Online and PebbleGo added to our list of Databases
Our Youth Services Department is proud to announce the addition of two new databases to our collection – World Book Online and PebbleGo, both accessible from the library and from home computers.
The databases were purchased by the Library after consultations with teachers and librarians from the East Brunswick School District.
“We hope that with our renewed partnership with local schools, these resources will be well used and a great boon to children in our community,” said Youth Services Manager Aaron Pickett.
World Book Online contains a wealth of new features including a portal for atlases, videos, e-reference texts, and a timeline tool that uses data visualization techniques to bring world events to life. Perhaps best of all, for the first time library customers can access a version of the site entirely in Spanish.
PebbleGo, was chosen at the universal recommendation of East Brunswick elementary school librarians and fills a unique space in our current offerings by being a great resource for students in first through third grade. The database offers clear, easy to understand graphics, engaging videos and photos, and easy to understand text.

Teen Writers Workshop
Teens are invited to write their own works during National Write a Novel in a Month.
Join us as we spend November celebrating National Write a Novel in a Month (NaNoWriMo) with a series of Teen Writers Workshops. We'll be writing together, working on different writing prompts, sharing our work, getting feedback from friends and more. You'll leave this workshop with a bound book of everyone's work. In addition, we’ll have guest speaker Keshav Pandya of Old Bridge stop by. Keshav will visit Nov. 17 to discuss the publishing process and what it is like to have a book published as a teenager. His novel, “Between the Devil and the Deep Blue See,” is available on Amazon. This program will be led by Flora Kim.
Workshops are scheduled for Mondays, Nov. 10, 17 and 24, and Dec. 1 and 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. Contact Jessica with questions. jschneider@ebpl.org.

Books picked just for you with Match+Book
Let us know what you like, and we'll pick the perfect book for you to read!
It's wonderful to have a special treat chosen just for you. Let the East Brunswick Public Library staff use their expertise to select your next great read with our new match+book service. Just fill out a simple form telling us about what you like to read and what you're looking for, and librarians will give you three custom book suggestions. The service is available for books, ebooks and audiobooks - just let us know how you want to read, and we'll do the rest. There is even an option for the books to be placed on reserve for you!
The library's Reader's Advisory committee worked on developing the form, and it was piloted over the summer. We're very excited about being able to offer this to our community, and encourage you to give it a try!
EBPL's match+book form is available online at www.ebpl.org when you click on Great Books and Films and a paper form can be obtained by asking at the Information Desk. So let us pamper you today!
