The East Brunswick Public Library is pleased to announce the launch of a new all ages language learning resource.
Pronunciator is one of the fastest-growing online resources for language learning, and now East Brunswick Public Library cardholders can use it to learn 80 languages, or learn English from 50 native languages. It can be accessed from any computer or device through the Library’s website at www.ebpl.org.
Users can practice pronunciation, conversation, and grammar with structured lessons that can be taken at a user’s own pace. Multimedia features such as audio and video help to make a comprehensive learning experience. Lessons are arranged by age group, so even the youngest learners can follow along.
Pronunciator also offers assessment tools, trackers for progress, and features that help users become comfortable with the sounds of a new language. Audio lessons are taught by native speakers, and in-depth pronunciation analysis and drills will refine your accent.
For those on the go, fully- functional apps are available for mobile devices (Apple, Android, and Kindle Fire) to registered users.
Another feature of Pronunciator also includes workforce-specific exercises that simulate real-world professional use.
Tutors and instructors can also design their own courses of any length and size in the Course Designer feature, which can track students and their progress.
Pronunciator was purchased with funds from the American Library Association Dollar General American Dream Starts @ your library grant. East Brunswick was one of three recipients in New Jersey, and will be embarking on a year-long program called Global Connections @ your library, which aims to bring advanced cultural and business immersion ESL to the community. Look for programming and workshops to be announced soon!
