My Account

How do I get a library Card?

  • Click on Services in the main navigation menu.
  • Click on Borrower Services.
  • Information about how to get a library card is at the top of the page.
     

How do I access My Account?

  • You can access your account from the library's web site by clicking Catalong Login at the top of every page.
  • Click Log in on the catalog home page.
  • Enter your library card number in the top box and your four digit PIN.
     

Can I change My PIN online ?

Yes, you can change your PIN if you know your current PIN number. (The default is the last 4 digits of your phone number.) If you don't remember your current PIN, you will have to check with the Circulation Department staff for your number.

  • Go to the catalog login page, and click on Log in.
  • Enter your library card number and your 4 digit PIN to log in to your account.
  • Click on My Account on the top of the page.
  • On the Personal Information tab click on the Change PIN section.
  • Enter your current PIN and your new PIN on the fields.
  • Click on Update.

Using the Library Catalog

How do I search the catalog?

You can directly search the catalog from every page on the library's web site.

  • A Search Catalog form is at the top right of the header of each page.
  • You may fill in your keywords right in the Enter Keyword field.
  • Select the type of search - All fields, Author, Title, Keyword Title, ISBN or Series
  • Hit or click on the GO button.

Research Tools

How do I access the Online Databases?

Mouse over  Research Tools in the main navigation menu and click on Find Information in Online Databases. A page with an alphabetical list of all of the Online Research Databases will display.

  • For easier navigation through the list, you may click on the drop down field to see a list of subject coverage areas.
  • Click on the topic you need and only the databases that cover that subject will display.
  • Select the database you want to search and begin your search.
     

Find recommended Internet sites on a particular subject?

Mouse over  Research Tools in the main navigation menu and click on Recommended Websites. Use the subject list to find areas of interest and then click on that subject.
 



Hours

How do I find the library hours?

  • The library hours are located on the Hours and Directions page which is found from the About The Library link on the main navigation menu.

How do I find out when The Library is closed?

  • Holiday closings will always be in The Library calendar located on the library, Kids' and Teens home pages. Click on the date in question to see if we are closed. 
  • Closings due to inclement weather or other emergencies will be listed as an alert at the top of the home page.

How do I find things on the new site?

  • Use the Site map to quickly and easily locate all of the pages of The Library's web site.

How do I find events happening at The Library?

  • All events that occur on the library premises are listed in the library website calendar. This includes events for Adults, Kids, Teens, and the outside groups which use The Library meeting rooms.
  • Use the Advanced Calendar Search link to filter events based on type,date, subject, level, etc.
  • To see events for outside groups that are using the library's meeting room, Choose General from the Calendar drop down. Then click on the Search button.
  • Kids and Teens have calendars contain their events only.

From the searchable calendar page you can:

  • Move forward or backward from month to month by clicking on Next or Previous on either side of the current month display.
  • Choose the Calendar you wish to select to choose either Library (all library events) or General (events by outside groups) .
  • You can also limit the display to specific event types or subjects using those drop down menus at the top of the calendar.
  • You can specify a month for your search by selecting it from the Date drop down.
  • Finally, you must click on the Search button to activate this search.

  • Click on Services in the main navigation menu.
  • Go to Public Services and then click on Other Services in the expanding menu.
  • Use the drop down menu in the top right corner of the content area of the page to select Recycle Cell Phone and More.
     

I am having trouble reading the text on The Library's new web site. How do I increase the font size?

  • Use the options on your browser’s Menu bar to increase the text size.
  • Chrome
    • Click the hamburger icon on the top right of the window.
    • Click "+" to increase or "-" to decrease the font size on the Zoom option.
  • Firefox/Edge
    • Click View on the top menu
    • Then choose Zoom In or Zoom Out from the Zoom option
  • Or, use the following keyboard shortcuts:
    • Ctrl+ - to increase font size
    • Ctrl- - to decrease the font size
  • Depending upon the size you choose, the text may pop out of the boxes on the page slightly, but the site was designed to allow this flexibility.

How do I reserve a meeting room?

  • Go to Services in the main navigation menu.
  • Click on Meeting Rooms.
  • Click on To Book a Meeting Room in the menu in the top right side of the content area of the page. This section will provide:
    • the library's meeting room policy,
    • a copy of our room setup guide which contains layouts and room capacities, and
    • the Room Schedule view of the library calendar which shows which rooms are already used, and
    • the booking form.

How do I donate a book in memory of someone?

  • Go to About the Library in the main navigation menu.
  • Select Help the Library from the expanding menu and then choose the way in which you would like to help.
  • Click on Tax-Deductible Contributions.
  • The ways in which you can contribute, including book plating or memorials will be listed.
  • Click on the online Book Donation form.
