Search, Checkout and Download: Downloading Audiobooks and eBooks

This month’s class will focus on the new EBSCOhost ebooks search portal. The service currently known as NetLibrary will soon have a new look, new user features and a new name – eBooks on EBSCOhost. This class will show how to search, check and download ebooks in EBSCOhost as well as our other ebooks/audiobook provider ListenNJ.

Attendees will also learn how to transfer ebooks to some of the major ereader devices including the Barnes and Noble Nook and Sony Reader and find out how you can listen to audiobooks on many of the most popular mobile devices like the iPhone, iPod, Blackberry and Android phones. Please note that the Kindle ereader is not compatible with library ebooks due to the manufacturer’s restrictions.

Prerequisites

Students should have intermediate Internet skills. For library cardholders only.

Cancellation Policy

Please take your commitment seriously. Remember, your registration locks out someone else. If you cannot attend, you MUST call 732-390-6767 at least 24 hours before class time or cancel your registration online. If you do not attend and fail to cancel, the $5 registration fee is nonrefundable and will be charged to your library account. Customers with fines exceeding $5 will have a blocked library card until the fine is paid.
