Opera Talk: Il Tabarro and Gianni Schicchi

Trapped in a loveless marriage. One thing can lead to another. Infidelity...then a brutal murder. It’s an old story in opera, but what follows lightens the mood. After all, doesn’t everyone go to elaborate lengths to make sure of an inheritance? No? Well, this is opera too, as composed by Giacomo Puccini.

Two one act operas, “Il Tabarro “and “Gianni Schicci “ will be presented at The Mason Gross School on  select dates from February 1 through 10. Join Joanna Barouch to learn more about these exciting and strange operas. All are welcome to this program.

Joanna Barouch is a member of the EB Arts Commission and a retired public school vocal /general music teacher. She taught an opera class for OLLIE-RU and recently completed teaching a course about Leonard Bernstein..
