Eagleton Institute of Politics

The Institute is a research and public service unit of Rutgers University in the field of American politics. In addition to its education programs, it also undertakes special initiatives to promote political participation through increased awareness and understanding of New Jersey politics.

Federal Election Commission - FEC

This is agency overseas the federal election procedures. It makes public campaign finance information, enforces the provisions of the law such as the limits and prohibitions on contributions, and oversees the public funding of Presidential elections.

Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP)

The FVAP provides U.S. citizens worldwide a broad range of nonpartisan information and assistance to facilitate their participation in the voting process regardless of where they work or live. Located in the Department of Defense, FVAP is responsible for serving military personnel and other U.S. citizens residing outside the U.S.

League of Women Voters

New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission

This site is the New Jersey state equivalent of the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and enforces New Jersey campaign financing and lobbying disclosure. The website includes forms with instructions for candidates to file, reporting dates, contribution limits chart, campaign finance reports for candidates and political action committees (PACs), and campaign financing and lobbying statistics.

Political MoneyLine

This is an unofficial, nonpartisan campaign-finance funding site, which uses FEC data and presents it in an easy-to-use format. While much of the same data is available on the official FEC site, this packaging makes it even easier to find.

Project Vote Smart

Project Vote Smart, an independent nonpartisan organization consisting of both conservations and liberals, is dedicated to providing accurate and unbiased information to the voting public on political candidates, elected officials and issues. They provide a wide array of information from background information, to issue positions, to voting records, campaign finances and the performance evaluations. They are nonpartisan and do not lobby, support or oppose any candidate or issue and accept no support from any organization that does.

State of NJ - Division of Elections

Obtain general election information, including voter registration, list of the candidates, election results and more. It certifies state ballot questions and bond issues placed on the ballot. The Division also assists county election officials, county clerks and the public on the matters of election administration. The Division also certifies and publishes election results and certifies voting machines.

The League of Women Voters

The League's mission, as stated on their Web site says "The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy."
