Learn about an amazing, one handed-pianist

Learn about an amazing, one handed-pianist
Learn about Paul Wittgenstein, an accomplished pianist who lost his right arm while serving in World War I, on Monday, March 8.

Learn about one of the most amazing musicians you will ever hear about. Visit The Library from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 28, and learn about Paul Wittgenstein - an accomplished pianist who lost his right arm while serving in World war I. Following the tragedy, Wittgenstein devised techniques that allowed him to play musical chords otherwise impossible for someone like himself. Follow this inspiring journey through wealth, music and the holocaust during a presentation of the documentary, “All in One hand.” The event will be presented by Richard Bidnick, a leading scholar of piano concertos for the left hand alone. Also featured in the documentary are Leon Fleischer, Gary Graffman and Pierre Boulez. Come and watch this inspiring documentary and stay for a special talk about Bidnick’s participation in the project. This program is sponsored by the Arts Commission and The Library.
