November Computer Training at the Library
Get the computer training you need at the Library and update your skills this month. The Library is offering something new in November - Introduction to MS Outlook Parts I and II!

Register now for the East Brunswick Public Library’s latest computer class offerings.  November offers something for everyone with classes for beginners and more advanced students alike. 

For Beginners

Beginners can register for our introduction to the Internet - Internet I.   This class is not offered on a regular basis, so be sure to take advantage and register this month.  If there is sufficient registration for Internet I, Internet II will be offered in December.

For More Advanced Users

More advanced users can sign up for the Microsoft Office suite of classes.  This month we are offering three levels of Microsoft Word, four levels of Excel, two levels of Outlook and PowerPoint II.  People who are new to Microsoft Office 2010 (and even 2007) can register for our Introduction to the New Microsoft Office and master the ribbon, the Quick Access Toolbar and learn about all of the new features.

Introduction to QuickBooks, Level III

In October we offered the 2nd of the three part introductory series to the popular small business financial software. On November 5th we are following up with Level III. The QuickBooks classes are designed for individuals who are just starting out with QuickBooks and have a working knowledge of the Windows environment. QuickBooks Level III will include payroll basics, handling sales tax, customizing QuickBook forms, and using reports in QuickBooks. The fee for the course is $50. Advance registration and prepayment is required. See the event in the calendar for the specifics on registration and cancellation.

Introduction to Microsoft Outlook Parts I and II

Part I

Learn to use MS Outlook for your email and personal information manager. Includes an introduction to the Outlook application interface; creating, reading, replying, and forwarding messages; creating a signature; and creating personal folders.


This class replaces the Email Basics Part I class given using Yahoo.


PC Literacy I and II and any introductory Microsoft Office class - the Introduction to MS Word or PowerPoint, Excel Basics, or Introduction to the New Microsoft Office or equivalent experience. Offered in Office 2010. For registrants who have the MS Office Suite.

Part II

Building upon the skills learned in MS Outlook Part I, this course covers more advanced Outlook topics. Students will learn how to create and use contacts, attach files, search for messages, create rules for managing your mail, use the calendar and tasks.


MS Outlook Part One class or equivalent email experience. For registrants who have the MS Office Suite.


This class replaces the Email Basics Part II class offered using Yahoo! If you already are comfortable using Outlook take the Part III class to be offered in December. It will focus on the features new to Outlook 2010.

Classes for November include: 

All courses are offered using the latest Microsoft software - Windows 7 and Office 2010. Registration is required. All registrants should look at the class offerings carefully to insure that they have the necessary skills for each class. Most classes are two hours long and limited to 12 students per class.  

There is a $5 fee for cardholders and a $10 fee for non-cardholders with the exception of the QuickBooks classes. Fees will be added to a cardholder’s account and paid for at the Circulation desk. Register at the Library, by phone or by going to the event in the website Calendar and clicking on the Sign Me Up link. Your library card and PIN numbers will be required.  Non-cardholders must pay at the time of registration, i.e. registrations must be in person.

Cancellation Policy

Please take your commitment seriously. Remember, your registration locks out someone else. If you cannot attend, you MUST call 732-390-6767 at least 24 hours before class time or cancel your registration online. If you do not attend and fail to cancel, the $5 registration fee is nonrefundable and will be charged to your library account. Customers with fines exceeding $5 will have a blocked library card until the fine is paid. The $10.00 fee for noncardholders is non-refundable unless the class is cancelled by The Library.
