Tech Assistance Hours
Registration is required in order to guarantee a time slot. Click here to register.
Come in on Tuesdays between 5:30 and 7:30 and get assistance with your devices with Danny, the Technology Instructor. Danny will be located in the lobby of the library, by the front entrance. To receive assistance, either register here for one of four thirty-minute time slots to guarantee a time, or walk in at any time during these two hours and receive assistance at the earliest availability. Patrons may also register by phone and call the library at 732-390-6767.
Guidelines for IT Assistance:
- All repairs should not exceed 30 minutes.
- In order to have as productive of a session as possible, please come with a specific, attainable goal in mind for the support session. E.g. “Can you add my email to my phone?” or, “My Phone isn’t ringing when people call. Can you help me,” as opposed to, “Set up my computer for me.”
- Assistance is given for educational purposes, intended to teach patrons how to use and troubleshoot their technology, as opposed to direct tech support.
- Please do not share passwords with us. If a system prompts for a password, please enter it yourself.
- We can guide you on how to change passwords for accounts, but we will not change the password ourselves.
- We can’t assist with banking apps or anything that requires the use of private information, e.g. social security numbers.
- We cannot assist with company devices provided by your IT department, e.g. company laptops. We will only assist with connecting to the library
