Camp Half-Blood Coping Skills Workshop for Tweens (Gr, 4-8)
Train Like a Demigod. Master Your Inner Powers.
Welcome to Camp Half-Blood, where tweens discover that their greatest powers aren’t swords or lightning bolts—but calm, courage, and emotional control.
In this Percy Jackson–inspired workshop, teens embark on a one-hour quest to learn how to handle big emotions, stress, and everyday challenges using age-appropriate coping skills and mindset tools.
Tweens will be grouped by different strength and coping styles, helping them recognize how they naturally respond to pressure - and how to use strategies that actually work for them. Through games, movement, discussion, and imagination-based activities, they’ll learn how emotions affect the brain and body, and how to reset when things feel overwhelming.
The favorite activity is our Potion Lab, where participants create symbolic potions focused on intention-setting and mindset shifts - like calm under pressure, bravery, focus, or self-trust: turning coping skills into something tangible, memorable, and fun.
By the end of their training, tweens will have practiced:
- Managing anxiety, frustration, and overwhelm
- Calming their nervous system
- Building emotional awareness and confidence
- Using simple coping tools they can take into school and daily life
Leaving feeling stronger, steadier, and more confident, knowing they already have what it takes to face challenges - just like a true demigod.
