Just the word conflict gets us ready for battle! Our mind races and our hearts pound faster. The best way to manage conflict is to de-escalate yourself first. A cooler head will prevail when you need to de-escalate the situation. In this workshop, we'll use a simple three-step process, understand the reasons we get upset, and identify your best self! Your pre-work: where were you the most "you" ever (beach, out with friends, reading a book in the woods, etc.). This is the place where you had nowhere to go and nothing to prove.
Dana Bernstein is a conflict resolution coach and has created a comprehensive resource to help coaches help their clients manage conflict. Her focus in her work is on the "human connections," and it all starts with connecting with yourself first, re-align with your values and operate as your best self— even during a conflict! She is the author of It’s the Thought That Counts: Mastering the Art of YOU vs. you.
