East Brunswick Public Library teams up with the Pride Center of New Jersey and the Highland Park Public Library for the Rainbow Reads Book Club on Monday, May 19 at 7:00 pm. This program is held at the Pride Center of New Jersey (85 Raritan Ave #100, Highland Park).
The Rainbow Reads Book Group discusses books written by queer and trans authors or featuring queer and trans characters and themes. While this book group is centered on LGBTQ+ stories and authors, readers of all identities are invited to join and participate in respectful and fun conversations.
For this meeting, the group will be discussing Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin. In 1950s Paris, a young American expatriate finds himself caught between his repressed desires and conventional morality. Giovanni’s Room, published in 1956, is a groundbreaking novel about love and the fear of love.
