Youth Entrepreneur Mini Workshop

YOUTH ENTREPRENEUR MINI WORKSHOP & MARKET REGISTRATION

East Brunswick Public Library and Future Founders Prep have come together to pilot a youth entrepreneurship program for kids aged 6-16yrs, with an introductory mini youth entrepreneurship workshop followed by a live youth entrepreneur market. Participants don’t just learn about business - they get a taste of how to create, brand, price, and sell their own products in a real LIVE marketplace and make profit!

Mini Youth Entrepreneurship Workshop Experience:

Sensory Friendly Browsing Hour

Join us for a special sensory-friendly hour at the library, held before public hours.

This dedicated time is designed to offer a quieter, calmer library experience for children, teens, and adults with sensory sensitivities, along with their families or guardians.

The library will be open only to registered participants during this hour, providing a safe, low-stimulation environment to browse, read, use the computers and explore before regular public hours begin.

Open Art Studio (Gr. 4+)

Stop by the makerspace to check out the various art supplies available to use at the library. Practice with different mediums and relax with an opportunity to be purely creative! Due to the messy nature of some of the supplies, this program is for students going entering grades 4+.

Meet a Future Doctor!

Thinking about a career in medicine?  Join us for Day of Service, an exciting annual event when first-year medical students from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School visit the library to share health and wellness information and meet library patrons.  This is a great opportunity for kids and teens who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine to stop by and talk with the med students about the educational paths they took to get to this point!  (Please note, medical students are happy to share their personal experiences and insights, but they are not college or career counselors

Dessert Discussion: Feelings, Social Media... & Ice Cream!

Wednesday, June 17, 5:00 PM

Join our friends from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School for a workshop on feelings and mental health, social media, and how these topics are related.  Learn some strategies for navigating tough feelings or difficult friend (or frenemy) situations, and wrap up with a plan for how you can use social media while staying safe and grounded.

Ohhh!!!  And enjoy some ice cream while we chat, because what makes an awkward conversation easier than having a frozen dessert to literally "break the ice" with?

Meet with New Jersey Statewide Student Support Services (NJ4S)

Meet with representatives from New Jersey Statewide Student Support Services (NJ4S) and learn about services they provide to families with children in grades K through 12.

NJ4S is a prevention program that supports youth mental wellness and can connect students and their parents/caregivers with other community resources beneficial to social, emotional, and mental health and well-being, including clinical and non-clinical resources.
