Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom (Documentary Screening)
Join us for a screening of the documentary Juneteenth: Faith & Freedom. The film is an exploration of Juneteenth from the viewpoint of those emancipated in Texas, in 1865.
The documentary follows the journey of a Black man troubled by the legacy of American slavery and the misuse of Christianity to justify it. He travels throughout Texas to discover how the Juneteenth holiday reveals the hope and courage that empowered the formerly enslaved and their descendants to fight for freedom in an often unjust society.
