Learn about NJ's Lead Remediation & Abatement Program

Meet with staff from Garden State Home in the library's lobby to learn about the dangers of lead poisoning and find out if your home may be eligible for free testing and treatment under the New Jersey Lead Remediation and Abatement Program (LRAP).

Lead-based paint hazards exist in most homes built prior to 1978 and can be especially harmful to children and pregnant women.

Make a Cute Magnet!

Kids ages 3 years and up, with an adult, are invited to stop by the children's section to create a cute, silly, health-themed magnet.  We'll be making magnets that look like fruits, veggies, and even tubes of sunscreen!

This fun event coincides with the annual Day of Service, when first-year medical students from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School visit the library to share health and wellness information and meet library patrons.

Stop by between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM!

Meet a Future Doctor!

Thinking about a career in medicine?  Join us for Day of Service, an exciting annual event when first-year medical students from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School visit the library to share health and wellness information about summer safety and meet library patrons.  This is a great opportunity for kids and teens who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine to stop by and talk with the med students about the educational paths they took to get to this point!  (Please note, medical students are able to share their personal experiences, but they are not college or career couns

Art Explorers: Watercolor Crayons!

Let's explore with some simple art supplies!  Rather than focusing on a specific project, we'll try out different tools and techniques each month.

This month we'll experiment with using watercolor gel crayons.  First we draw with them, then we paint over them with water!  These are washable paints, but please do not wear your finest!

Class begins at 10:00 and we'll clean up together at 10:45.

Recommended for ages 3 and up, with an adult.

Teen Process Art

Process art is an artform that emphasizes the process of creating rather than the end result.

By staying fully present, process art shuts off the “overthinking” part of the brain and offers benefits similar to meditation. Because of this, process art can be a powerful tool for art therapy.

Join us at EB Create to explore process art and experience the benefits for yourself!
