Create a Tiny Book

Join TAG volunteer Diksha for this fun craft! Available to Grades 6+.

Participants will learn how to create their own miniature books from scratch. We'll fold, cut, glue, and assemble paper into tiny books with covers that they can decorate or covers that can be of another book. This is perfect for jotting down notes, doodles, or mini stories. This hands-on activity will guide attendees through every step of the process!

Rainbow Loom

Let's craft like it's 2012!  Kids in 1st grade and up can go (slightly) old school with the library's awesome teen volunteers and learn to make a simple rubber band bracelet on their fingers or using some of the Rainbow Loom tools.

Think Pawsitive Workshop for Kids

Families with children in 1st grade and up are invited to this special workshop presented by Kathy DiMario, a psychology instructor and counselor who developed Think Pawsitive: Posha’s Superpower Toolbox, a social-emotional learning (SEL) tool that combines cognitive psychology and self-esteem principles to help children build resilience and manage negative thoughts.

Learn about NJ's Lead Remediation & Abatement Program

Meet with staff from Garden State Home in the library's lobby to learn about the dangers of lead poisoning and find out if your home may be eligible for free testing and treatment under the New Jersey Lead Remediation and Abatement Program (LRAP).

Lead-based paint hazards exist in most homes built prior to 1978 and can be especially harmful to children and pregnant women.
