Family Craft: Dragon Boat Festival

Stop by the library to engage in crafts and activities to celebrate the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival!

Held annually, the Dragon Boat Festival is a holiday celebrated in remembrance of Qu Yuan, a Chinese poet. The holiday's main highlight is exciting boat races; a traditional food eaten during this time is sticky rice dumplings known as zongzi (粽子). Learn more about the annual festival at this library event.

This program is in partnership with APIDA Alliance.

Dessert Discussion: Feelings, Social Media, & Ice Cream

Join our friends from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School for a workshop on feelings and mental health, social media, and how these topics are related.  Learn some strategies for navigating tough feelings or difficult friend (or frenemy) situations, and wrap up with a plan for how you can use social media while staying safe and grounded.

Ohhh!!!  And enjoy some ice cream while we chat, because what makes an awkward conversation easier than having a frozen dessert to literally "break the ice" with?

For tweens and teens in 3rd grade and up.

Sensory Power Hour

Families with kids of all ages are invited to join the staff of NJ4S for a hands-on hour of fun with fidget toys, sand trays, and slime!  This event is a great way for families to explore the benefits of sensory activities for emotional regulation

Supplies and light refreshments will be provided.

Limited space!  Free tickets at the children's desk beginning at 4:30.
