School Age

Families with kids of all ages are invited to join the staff of NJ4S for a hands-on hour of fun with fidget toys, sand trays, and slime!  This event is a great way for families to explore the benefits of sensory activities for emotional regulation

Supplies and light refreshments will be provided.

Children and families are invited to learn more about bees, butterflies, bats, birds, and other lesser-known pollinators during National Pollinator Week with a curiosity-sparking interactive presentation by Beyond the Bug.

Families with kids ages 3 and up can drop by the children's area to make a craft for the dads, grandpas, and other father figures in their lives. All crafts are while supplies last!

The Rutgers Geology Museum returns to present this exciting class to kids entering grades K-6!

Museum staff will talk about what fossils, how they are formed, and what scientists learn from them. Attendees will participate in hands-on science and art activities, and each participant will receive a fossil to take home!

In-person chess club meetings will be held from May 21 to June 18 on Thursdays 5:15-6pm in the Youth Programming room.

Girls Who Code club for 3rd to 5th grade girls will be held with 6 Zoom meetings on Wednesdays @ 5-5:45pm from 5/20-6/24

Scratch is a block-based coding program which is easy to learn and the projects are fun to spark the interest.
