Join the staff of NJ4S and create your personal vision board for 2026. A vision board is a poster or collage where you can visually represent your dreams and goals. Reflect on how you'd like to grow and the experiences you're looking for in 2026, and get it all down on an inspiring poster you can hang in your room!
For kids of all ages, with an adult. Teens are welcome to attend!
Limited space! Free tickets for this event are available at the children's desk the day of the event, beginning at 4:30PM.
Did your family wrap up 2025 with a lot of sugary sweets? Yeah... us too!
Join medical students from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School for a lighthearted workshop where kids will work together to test their food group knowledge! We'll even get a little messy with a fun sugar-pouring activity to take a closer look at what we're really putting in our bodies. We'll finish up with a craft about good nutrition and tell you how to earn a small reward next time you come to the library!
For families with kids in kindergarten and up.
Stop by the library to do a quick winter themed drop-in craft!
Kids in grades K-8 are invited to take the Winter Reading Challenge! The challenge runs from Monday, December 1st through Saturday, January 31st..
Pick up a BINGO board at the children's desk anytime you're at the library. Get five in a row and select a prize book that you can keep FOREVER! That's because reading is its own reward. :)
Winter Break, Schminter Break! Kids entering kindergarten through 3rd grade can (and should!) keep their brains in gear with this fun game! We'll be practicing our subtraction facts while playing BINGO. Join us for your chance to win a prize!
Stop by the children's library and check out books from our display to learn more about Chanukah. While supplies last, you can also partake in activities such as coloring pages and crafts to help celebrate this Festival of Lights!
All ages are welcome to create a stash of DIY bookmarks! We have great templates to pick from, or you can create your own design. Color, cut, and laminate for a lasting page-marker to keep or give to someone special. <3
Come join us to color your own Christmas village stand-ups.
