Youth Services

The Young Writers Group is a monthly meeting space for aspiring authors of all genres - poetry, lyrics, fiction, nonfiction, short stories, and more!

Each session of the Young Writers Group will include a different group activity such as blackout poetry, "exquisite corpse," fantasy worldbuilding, literary guess who, mad libs, timed writing challenges, and more. Paper and pencils will be provided for group activities.

Together, participants will encourage and inspire each other, share tips and tricks, and hone their craft!

Teen musicians are invited to perform in this judgment-free zone. Others are welcome to just come and listen to local talent.

Performer details:

• Performers aged 13-18 are welcome.
• Sign up when you arrive if you want to perform!
• All acts will be given a 5-minute slot whether they are singing or playing an instrument.
• The stage will include a PA system and two stool chairs.

This event is co-sponsored with the East Brunswick Teen Arts Council.

When you drop by the Friends of the Library Book and Media Sale, stop for a moment to participate in some family-friendly fun activities. Color your own bookmark, build something creative with mini waffle blocks, and try your hand at Bingo to win a small prize!
