The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and NAMI NJ SAMHAJ are hosting a series of community conversations on mental wellness! Designed for, by and about South Asians, Chai & Chat provides a safe space to explore what wellness means to us and discover ways to support well-being for ourselves and each other.

 

Participants must be over 18 and of South Asian Descent

(Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Indo-Carribbean Ancestry)

Green Apron Kitchen is excited to be a part of the “Just for the Health of It” cooking series with East Brunswick Public Library! These recipes are designed to be delicious, nutritious, and easy to make!

Together, we will mix up meals that reflect the principles of scratch cooking and, more importantly, healthy eating.

To encourage both knowledge of and access to the benefits of the creative arts, NAMI is introducing Creative Mindsets, an all-in-one boxed kit that contains everything you need to engage young people in mindfulness, reflection, and self-care through creative activities. These activities were designed by a work group of folks with overlapping experience in creativity and mental health, including art therapists, youth program directors, professional artists, and more.

Join us for a gentle and accessible yoga suitable for all levels (chair modifications available), which will include guided breathwork for stress reduction, and a short mindfulness meditation practice.

The session is designed to be inclusive, welcoming beginners as well as those with prior experience. The focus will be on nervous system regulation, relaxation, and building simple, sustainable mindfulness habits.
